Heathland Is part of the Legends Resort Group of Courses on the Strand which features a fabulous collection of award-winning design courses which have enjoyed 4 ½ to 5 Stars by Golf Digest Places to Play! The Resort presents the total golf experience, with a 30 acre practice facility that includes a grass range that is lit for night play, 50,000 square foot putting green and short game areas with chipping greens and sand bunkers.
Heathland is an early design of renowned golf course architect Tom Doak. Heathland was designed with an artistic touch as the contours of the land dictate the flow of the course. The link Style is reminiscent of the time honored courses of the UK such as St. Andrews, Lahinch and Cruden Bay however not complete copies.
Heathland course is a complex track featuring 5,785 yards from the longest tees for a par 71. The course has an unobstructed breeze that gusts constantly over the wide forgiving fairways providing a visual like no other. Water hazards will come into play on 11 holes with deep face bunkers aligning the course.
Highlighted holes include the Road Hole – Par 5- 6th, the split-fairway, and the long par 4 – 16th. There is not a single weak hole on this course. They say it's pretty – not too long – and calls for a ‘thinking man’s game.
Before or after your round of golf, make sure to grab a bite to eat from one of the two locations. The first is the Highlander’s Double Eagle Tavern that is open for breakfast and lunch. They have a full service bar and you can order appetizers to pizza. How about trying your very own scottish tavern, known as Alisa Pub, voted in the Top 50 19th Hole’s in the country. The menu consists of appetizers and sandwiches and a full service bar. Also, enjoy your favorite sport on one of the 16 HD televisions. They also offer snack bar and beverage cart service on the course.
